we are with chickens no more, yet i have not given up hope at having

This week I am grateful for...

(this was actually supposed to be for last week, but being that this is a 4 day weekend from school, just now getting around to posting)

a family trip to the zoo

heart shaped cotton candy (& cotton candy in general)

a visit from good friends we haven't seen in many years

sunshine and gardening

down time to play games

laughs from little critter # 4 (who is going thru a spitting, hitting, kicking phase)

the beauty of a bowl of hard boiled eggs

the beautiful doors my husband is working on in order to enclose

the garage so I can have some studio space

& all of the wonderful supportive women taking

woohoo! You are your Own Muse just started yesterday and already I am having SO much fun!

as a matter of fact, I'm jumping for JOY!

i feel like i did some 20+ years ago when i first learned about the wonders of photography and the darkroom. i've been playing with my camera all afternoon. even had my kiddos sitting patiently as i tried to get a shot over and over again while walking home from school today.
am full of ideas and dreams of wanting to make images like Kristin Sweetland and Cindy Sherman's Untitiled Film Stills.

oh to feel that joy of wonderment and play again.

little hearts everywhere...

i am so inspired to see that there are so many other 'heart' collectors out there. I love visiting Chrissy's blog every day to see what kind of hearts others have found. It's so funny how once you start looking for them you find that there truly are little hearts everywhere, and I can't help but smile everytime I find one. Here are a few from my collection...

Warm thoughts to all...

With spring looming closely ahead down here, I decided to take some time last night to indulge in this cold (to us Texans) weather we have been having. After getting the little critters off to bed, I stoked up the fire, put in a movie about Yositomo Nara (which I highly recommend) and finished a knitting project (so I can use it before the heat settles back in).
